Utilities provided

·         Solar power: 45 solar voltaic panels, 25 batteries and an inverter power all the lighting and fans, throughout the residence and outlets for fridge, and small power in the kitchen, all external security lighting, washing machine and dryer, water circulation pumps for the two ornamental pools, computer and TV etc.

·         Water: A bore well has been sunk to a depth of 510 ft. This supplies all the domestic needs, top-up water for the swimming pool and surplus water for gardening needs. From the bore well water is pumped to an 8,000 litre, glassfibre lined domestic water tank at ground level. Surplus water is stored in an adjacent concrete tank of 20,000 litre capacity. From the 8,000 litre tank water is pumped to glass fibre lined water storage tanks at roof level for supply to all bath rooms and the kitchen and watering points, provided at both roof levels and two balconies. Water from the bore well has been tested twice and is certified satisfactory for drinking purposes.

·         Rain water harvesting. Rain water from the roof of the residence is directed to underground water storage tanks, total capacity 68,000 litres.

·         Septic tanks are appropriately situated and process all the waste water.




Structure

The building design uses reinforced concrete framed structure allowing great flexibility should any alterations or additions be contemplated. Almost any wall can be removed. This also facilitates easy additions and four additional bed rooms can be added within the existing frame without compromising the integrity of the design.

If change of use is contemplated the site offers considerable space for additional structures.



Finishes

Materials have been selected to ensure a very high quality of finishes. All the wood work is in the highest quality teak meticulously put together. Floors are mainly ceramic tiled and trimmed with granite. All doors and window reveals in dry areas are lined with teak and in wet areas with granite. Walls are plastered to a high standard and finished with the highest quality paint available. Light fittings are chosen to complement the design of the fabric. Many feature walls are lined with stone especially sized for this project and imported from Bangalore; its sparkle in the night light is enchanting. Paving around the swimming pool and other external areas is in natural stone slabs. All windows are high quality powder coated aluminium. All the roof areas are finished in long lasting glass fibre to ensure complete water proofing.
